17 GOALS BEFORE 2017

It is not too late to set your goals for the New Year!  List 17 goals you want to complete before the end of 2017. Think about what you need to work on and the changes you need to make! Here are my goals. Hopefully they will inspire you to do some goal-setting.

#1 Launch an eMagazine. Surprise! This month, God willing, I will launch an eMagazine! I am so excited about this project. I can’t tell you much, but I can tell you that the magazine centers on the idea of eating a vegan diet. I talk about how and why you should eat fewer animal products and more veggies. I even include a meal plan with recipes. If you have any questions or topics you would like me to discuss in this issue, you can fill out the Vegan Diet Survey. Thanks in advance!

#2 Attend a conference. I am dying to go to a blogging conference. I am registering for BlogHer17 and Blogging while Brown.

#3 Travel More. Experiencing new cities is one of my favorite things to do! I’ve lined up trips to Atlanta, Houston, Florida, DC, San Francisco, Napa Valley and Los Angeles.

#4 Schedule monthly dates with friends. What kind of person has a full-time job, a part-time job, a blog and an internship? Me! Lately, I am finding it difficult to participate in any kind of activity that does not relate to work or my bed. I, literally, need to schedule time with my friends. If I write it down on my calendar then I am more likely to follow through.

#5 Try a meal delivery service. I’ve wanted to try a vegan meal delivery service since the summer of 2016. There are a lot of services out there. Purple Carrot, 22 Days Nutrition and Blue Apron all offer meal plans that can be altered based on the kind of diet you eat. I am going to order my meals from Green Chef because their organic, vegan options look more appealing. I will do a review post of my experience.

#6 Post to Instagram regularly. Connecting and keeping up with friends and other bloggers is so easy via Instagram. Even though it is easy, I have a hard time because I don’t take a lot of pictures. I am realizing that I have to carry my Nikon camera with me everywhere because finding time to schedule a photo shoot for a post is impossible.

#7 Connect with other bloggers. More friends, more friends! I love talking with and getting to know other bloggers in my niche.

#8 Post on the blog regularly. I usually post every Thursday but last year I skipped some weeks. I am vowing to post EVERY Thursday this time. Nothing will stand in my way.

#9 Interact with readers. Reaching out to my readers is important to me. Being able to talk to you in the comment section below or through emails will help us become closer.

#10 Get and stay organized. My bedroom is a hot mess. I admit it. I am horrible about folding clothes and putting my belongings away. I am going to make a bigger effort to keep my room organize so that I can be stress free.

#11 Celebrate my vegan diet anniversary. Oh yeah! My 1 year anniversary is on January 30, 2017 and I am super excited. I cannot believe I made it this far. What started out as a 60 day New Year’s resolution turned into a diet that I am maintaining long term.

#12 Transition to a paleo vegan diet. Eating a vegan diet that is healthy and balanced is important. After my anniversary, I want to eat a vegan diet that draws from Paleolithic roots. In other words, I still want to be vegan but I want to omit grains, processed foods, corn, beans and etc.

#13 Workout regularly. I used to work out once or twice a day. Now I can’t even wake up to go to the gym twice a week. My goal is to work out 5x per week.

#14 Schedule spa days. Just like I have to schedule my social life I must schedule time to relax.

#15 Discover new restaurants. I need to discover new places to eat. I always go to the same restaurants. It gets boring after a while.

#16 Become less domineering. Fact: I am a bossy person at times. In 2017, I want to really listen to others and have an (even more) open mind.

#17 Adhere to a sleep schedule. Poor sleep habits are unhealthy and can impact my productivity levels. Studies show that the average adult needs 7-9 hours of sleep. Right now I am getting 5-4 hours….less than ideal. I am going to go to bed between 9-10pm in order to wake up at 5am.
