Warning: These vegan cauliflower wings might be the best thing you've ever tasted!

Soft, crispy, tender and flavorful. These cauliflower wings are the real deal people!

In this post/video, we made the wings vegan. However, they can be made gluten-free or vegetarian too. Don't forget to make the vegan ranch to go with it! Comment down below if you want the recipe for the ranch.

*We got this recipe from Hot For Food, the best Canadian vegan blog and YouTube channel. Check them out.

Cauliflower Wings

Main Ingredients:

1 head of cauliflower (approx. 4-5 cups of florets)

Batter Ingredients:

1/2 cup unsweetened non-dairy milk (almond or soy works best)

1/2 cup water

3/4 cup all-purpose flour (can substitute gluten-free rice flour)

2 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp onion powder

2 tsp Old Bay Seasoning (optional)

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp of paprika

1/4 tsp sea salt

1/4 tsp ground pepper

Sauce Ingredients:

Buffalo Sauce

1 tbsp Earth Balance Buttery Spread (optional)

1 cup hot sauce (can use Frank’s or any other hot sauce that is vegan/organic)

BBQ Sauce

1 cup Annie’s Organic BBQ Sauce

How to Make:

  • Line your baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat your oven to 450 F. *Note: Hot For Food says to use parchment paper so that the batter doesn’t stick. I made the mistake of using foil. Half of my batter came off and stuck to the foil!

  • Wash and cut cauliflower.

  • Mix batter ingredients together. Batter should be thick.

  • Coat each floret evenly in the mixture and place on your baking sheet neatly.

  • Bake for 25 mins, until golden. Make sure you flip the florets hallway through.

  • While the cauliflower is baking, pour your buffalo and/or bbq sauce in a bowl separately. We will toss the cauliflower in the bowl.

  • When the cauliflower is golden, remove from the oven and coat the “wings” in your sauce. Use the bowl containing the sauce to toss the florets.

  • Place the coated florets back onto the baking sheet and bake for another 25 minutes. Be sure to flip them halfway through.
