What is Ceramedx?
Ceramedx is the first ceramide skin therapy system made from plant-based ceramides and emollients. Ceramides are an essential component of skin’s outermost layer and primary barrier. Dry and damaged skin is often linked to a reduction or imbalance in the skin’s ceramide levels. Reduced ceramide levels make it difficult for the skin to retain moisture.
The Products and Our Review
We tested the complete Ceramedx Skincare Regimen. The regimen included their Extra Gentle Cleanser, Restoring Body Lotion and Ultra Moisturizing Cream. We listed all the details you need to know about each product below:
The Ceramedx website claims that “this creamy, daily cleanser for the body is specifically designed to cleanse dry and sensitive skin. It contains our exclusive Riceramide®-3 technology, as well as rich, soothing emollients and hyaluronic acid to help restore needed moisture and support skin’s natural protective barrier.”
Our thoughts - This cleanser is extraordinarily creamy. It goes on like butter. Seriously. It doesn’t foam up like normal cleansers though. We think this is a good thing since most foaming cleansers has Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) in it! SLS, the bubbles in cleansers, are super harsh on the skin.
As we get older, our skin has been so sensitive to everything…SLS especially. Our skin is dry and reactionary. Is this a symptom of getting old or what?!
After using this cleanser numerous times, our face felt clean and hydrated after every use. It provided a deep clean without irritation. DEEP CLEAN WITHOUT IRRITATION. That is unbelievable for people who have sensitive skin. We would repurchase this cleanser in a heartbeat.
The Ceramedx website claims that “this restoring, fragrance-free body lotion keeps skin soft and comfortably moisturized. It contains our exclusive Riceramide®-3 blend of plant-based ceramides, natural essential fatty acids and cholesterol, combined with soothing emollients and hyaluronic acid to help nourish chronically dry skin.”
Our thoughts - We really like this formula. Typically, we use lotion with shea butter in it. This lotion is similar to that but more hydrating and less oily. There is a slight tackiness but its not too noticeable. We put this lotion on immediately after showering in the morning. By the end of the day, our skin is velvety, soft! Literally, as soft as a baby.
The Ceramedx website claims that “this intensive cream for the body relieves, soothes and protects even the most severely dry skin. It contains our exclusive Riceramide®-3 blend of plant-based ceramides, natural essential fatty acids and cholesterol, combined with soothing emollients and hyaluronic acid to help relieve chronically dry skin.”
Our thoughts - The cream is very different than the lotion. For us, the lotion is for everyday use and the cream is for those rough patches of skin that are severely dry. Think feet, elbows and knees. The cream absorbs fast after application and is non-greasy. This product is excellent for people with eczema.
