An Acne and Wrinkle Solution
I have never had problems with my skin. I get pimples and blackheads every now and then…so I guess you can classify my acne as mild. Struggling with moderate to severe acne that causes inflammatory papules or cysts is an experience that is completely foreign to me.
In addition to having mild acne, I also have a baby(ish) face.
Yes, I know I look youthful – due to the fact that I am twenty-three years old – but people are often shocked when I tell them my age because they think I am sixteen!

Wavelengths of red light help improve skin barrier function by improving its ability to retain key elements it needs to heal and generate new collagen after its production has slowed due to age or cumulative damage.
Even though there are a lot of benefits to light therapy, it can be expensive. I MEAN EXPENSIVE! At home treatments usually come in the form of a hand-held device and can range from $250-700 bucks. Professional treatments are just as pricey because you have to go in to the office for sessions consistently.
At first I had very little hope that I would ever use LED light because let’s be real…my pocket book is looking mighty slim. I nearly gave up on the whole idea until I found the brand illuMask and the different phototherapy masks they carry!!!

The mask that is meant to treat acne (shown in the last picture above) allows you to read and do other activities while you are waiting. The anti-aging and eye mask, however, do not. The eye covers are completely blacked out and are covered by the mask.

My Thoughts on the Product:

In general, I love what IlluMask did to my skin. I have smaller pores, fewer pimples, and smoother skin. Here is how each product helped my skin:
- Eye mask: Hydrated my under eye area
- Acne Mask: Improved pores, fewer breakouts, and helped reduce acne scarring. I used to have oily/combination skin. My skin is now LESS oily than before.
- Anti-aging: Improved skin tone and texture. I had one wrinkle between my brows. The appearance of that wrinkle in now reduced.
While light therapy is not the solution to all of my facial related problems, if certainly help my skin appearance and feel more voluminous and supple.
