Essentials for Cold Weather SkinCare - T. Alexandria Med Spa
Wow, look at Taylor's skin in the photos above!
We are keen on treating ourselves to some much need R&R during the winter months. Colder temps can wreak havoc on your skin. Blistering winds and frosty temps can leave your face feeling tight, sore, dry and even itchy. For us, we suffer from patches of dry skin during the winter. Ugh!! Just the thought of wind whipping around our face makes us reach for the heavy duty moisturizer. Sometimes, however, our skin is still dry after we layer on the moisturizer.
To combat cold weather symptoms and boost our skincare routine, we popped into T. Alexandria Med Spa in Dallas, TX. We choose T. Alexandria Med Spa to help us with our cold weather skincare because their facials are affordable, customizable, relaxing, and performed by a licensed Esthetician and Registered Nurse!!!
When we arrived at the spa, the number of facials to choose from was astonishing. From mini lunch and acne facials to chemical peels and mircroneedling, T. Alexandria Med Spa truly has it all! The Deep Cleansing Facial (an $80 value) was a perfect fit for our needs because it was an excellent choice for skin that lacks moisture and prone to breakouts. This facial involves cleansing steam, a facial massage, pore extractions, facial mask, serum, and moisturizer.
In addition to the Deep Cleansing Facial, our Esthetician, Tracee, added a Chemical Peel (a $100 value), Dermaplaning (an $80 value) and Microdermabrasion (a $110 value). Oh, Sh*t – That’s a lot of pampering! Like us, you will be excited to learn about the services the spa offers. The dermaplaning facial was a treatment we wanted to investigate, especially. See what we learned from Tracee down below!
Sun exposure and aging can make your skin appear uneven. Chemical Peels can enhance your overall complexion as well as improve the appearance of acne, wrinkles and dark spots. Tracee said, “A chemical peel, also called chemexfoliation or derma peeling, is one of the least invasive ways to improve the appearance of your skin. Although chemical peels are used mostly on the face, they can also be used to improve the skin on your neck and hands.”
We really enjoyed the Chemical Peel facial because it helped us reduce acne scarring.
Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that consists of a scalpel that gently lifts off the top layer of dull, dead skin cells and facial hair. Removing dead skin cells allows for the skin to become brighter and smoother. Tracee said, “While there are several treatments available to exfoliate and improve the skin, dermaplaning at can provide subtle enhancement to your skin using your body's natural healing mechanisms, with no healing or downtime.”
Dermaplaning at this Med Spa is completely safe! When you book an appointment, the medical team will use a sterile medical scalpel to abrade the surface of the skin painlessly.
Microdermabrasion is a facial treatment that uses an instrument to gently sand your skin in effort to remove a thick, uneven layer of skin. Microdermabrasion can improve age spots, blackheads, hyperpigmentation, and reduce fine lines. Tracee said, "You will leave the treatment with fresh and smooth skin, which will begin to repair and rejuvenate itself to treat many skin concerns. We utilized sterile diamond heads to remove the outer layer of the skin, excess particles, and dirt. This treatment allows for better product absorption to see greater results from your skin care products that you use at home.”
