In the past two weeks I made it my mission to experiment with the drinks on Starbucks’ secret menu. Here are the concoctions …maybe you’ll be inclined to order one next time you make a pit stop at Starbucks.

 

Drink 1: Caramel Pumpkin Macchiato

 

September 23rd officially marked the first day of fall. We didn’t actually need the 23rd to announce the arrival of fall because there are plenty of signs that adequately mark this coveted day. For example, Labor Day and auburn leaves pleasantly denote our transition from sweaty summer days to cool autumn nights.

 

Let’s be real with ourselves though…to all the coffee lovers out there the REAL first day of fall starts when Starbucks reinstates the “Pumpkin Spice Latte” to their repertoire of drinks. I have never been a huge fan of the “pumpkin” flavor but, because it is the season for it, I decided to try the Caramel Pumpkin Macchiato off the secret menu. I got this one because I live for Starbucks’ iced Caramel Macchiato (skinny version). It is definitely my drink of choice! Also, I figured anything with caramel + pumpkin would be delicious.

 

Here’s how to order:

 

-Order the Caramel Macchiato

 --> Hot or Iced

 --> Opt in for the skinny version?

- Substitute the vanilla syrup for the pumpkin spice

- Top with pumpkin spice toppings

 

 

Drink 2: Summit Mojito

 

Hate the taste of pumpkin? Not a coffee lover? Refuse to let go of those summer days? Or do you just want to feel like you are having a faux-alcoholic drink at noon? I have the perfect drink for you!

 

Next time you are at your local Starbucks try the “Summit Mojito.” Made to reflect the flavors of lime, mint, and rum this drink will definitely relax you in seconds…without getting tipsy!

 

Here’s how to order:

 

-Order a Cool Lime Refresher

-Tell your barista to add a SPLASH…JUST A SPLASH of passion tea over the ice on top. *Don’t let them pour too much like I did.*

 

 

Drink 3: Dirty Chai

 

Calling all tea fanatics! If you have not tried the “Dirty Chai” yet you are truly missing out. You need this in your life ASAP.

 

The drink is simple and easy to order. This delightful, but dirty, drink blends a shot of expresso into a Chai Latte. It is ridiculously tasty and will leave you satisfied. For all who detest the taste of coffee, don’t fret! The drink tastes more like cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg rather than coffee. You can enjoy hot or cold. Now go get energized!

-Order a Chai Latte

 --> Hot or Iced?

-Add one shot (or two…or three?) of expresso
